Nope, totally legit. Game wasn't even half over, if he gets on and if the next guy homers it's tied. We shifted the infield to try to take something away. Can't blame a guy for countering the shift. Now, 8th or 9th inning of a blowout, totally different. 4 2/3rds is over half of the game. Bush league. Half the game is the middle of the fifth. Not two outs in the top of the fifth. |

Shifting is bush league. If you are going to shift, you open yourself up to the bunt. His junior year, I think that Cadyn Grenier bunted every time they shifted on him. And by the time that he got to Game 2 against Arkansas, the Hogs didn't even try it, opening up the left side to the game-tying base hit to left. |

I didn’t know that WW was nicked as well. Good to see Smith trot back out there or Beavers get REALLY thin at another position. I was wondering about Weber...did they mention? Any details? |

The announcers didn’t elaborate. Just noted that the 3rd and 4th string guys would catch if Smith was nicked. WW has been warming up pitchers between innings. |

How long have they had the 10-run rule in effect? Didn't realize college baseball did that.
How long does it have to be to be an official game in that regard? after 5 innings?

It's agreed on by coaches before games/series. This one is because of the weather. No reason to risk injury in a lopsided game. |

Man what a flurry in the 8th! Reeder gets his first hit on the season for an RBI, Travis tripples, Smith has a single, Krieg gets hit for the 5th time in the series, Santana pinch runs for his first score of the season and more than anything Kmatz absolutely dominated behind a great defensive performance. Macias also has a great game!
Beavs were focused and out to kill today and it showed.
10-1, 3 mercy rules, 21 homers.
