NDSU definitely has a couple of quality arms. I think the Beavers saw the top of the pen yesterday. When (and if) the Beavers get to the pen, the game could get ugly. Yesterday's starter, Johnson, is the only pitcher with an ERA 5.62... team ERA near 9.00. Giving up 79 runs, 71 earned and more hits than IP, and more BBs than Ks. OSU isn't going to see anything great. Hitting and pitching in the freezing cold is a pain... couple that with a ton of balls out the zone, it is tough to stay patient/focused. And with 17 hits and 23 BBs handed thru 2.5 games OSU is seeing ugly for sure. Knight has thrown very well today for them compared to what his numbers showed coming in.

Think Kmatz comes back out? 82 pitches with 5 full Cold weather and maybe wanting to see some other guys they may play it safe. Could go either way though, he's been dealing.

Nope, totally legit. Game wasn't even half over, if he gets on and if the next guy homers it's tied. We shifted the infield to try to take something away. Can't blame a guy for countering the shift. Now, 8th or 9th inning of a blowout, totally different.

Another career day for Kmatz. Allows one runner in 5.2. 8K day which would tie his career best before this season.

I will try to track Knight a little bit this season to see if he has the command to be a decent pitcher. He definitely has some quality stuff. He was toast last inning.

I didn’t know that WW was nicked as well. Good to see Smith trot back out there or Beavers get REALLY thin at another position.
