There has never been any question about Wayne Tinkle being a high-quality human being. Absolutely correct... I sometimes wonder about coaches and the "want" to test themselves at a higher level. Many at all levels stay put and have lengthy careers in spots they are very comfy with. Do many who move "up" and not have similar successes have a tinge of regret even though it is 20/20 hindsight? Wayne could have stayed put and probably be a Griz all time legend. Who knows how he would have done over the last 10 seasons, smaller paycheck of course but I can't see a coach that was/is a better fit for Montana hoops. But, one can never fault someone for expanding their horizons and challenges. With regard to the OSU program, I know that most of those I know are torn between where the program stands and the type of man Wayne is. It is very, very difficult to let high quality people go, but sometimes it is best for both parties. Sometimes a fresh beginning is needed to turn a page. I also have zero doubt WT would be hired by someone. Maybe not at a P4 conference, but if there was a place he was a good fit, he'd be a quality hire.
