As per Ron C.
"Hopefully we see her against Stanford."

Everyone needs to prepare themselves for Beers to be out for the remainder of the season. I was never even pondering that. Thinking it was a pretty innocuous looking play/injury. But, I've the exact type accidental contact shatter eye sockets, collapse sinus cavities, etc. In see Beers didn't even travel to be on the bench and in watching the team in two games since... it then crossed my mind that something was up. There just wasn't the same vibe, energy. I won't go as far a "pout", but there was something missing. I just hope that is was a down weekend and a split was a good thing.

It's almost certainly a concussion which can be very unpredictable. Fail a test and it's basically an automatic 10 days.

If she lost a tooth or two she might have undergone implant surgery which can be complicated if it's a top tooth. Usually they restore the tooth cavity and six months later install the implant. For the cavity restoration they want the patient to avoid intensive activity for a week or two. Now, before the armchair doctors weigh in - I just went through this myself. Protecting a broken nose can be done with a mask. However, making the mask usually requires subsidence of the inflammation. I expect she'll be back - as soon as next week.

I seriously doubt she's out for the season. I expect her to play next weekend (or good to go for the Pac-12 tournament for sure). They said she had been fitted for a mask, so IMO that would imply sooner than later, but she will get back on the court at some point.

I think it's standard protocol that if a player is injured or sick and has been ruled out for games, they don't travel with the team for road games.

My resident medical person reminds me that the nose is mostly made up of cartilage (2/3) and bone (1/3). Cartilage gets bent up but rarely if ever "broken". The boney part is higher up and attached to the rest of the skull. When people say that the nose was broken it often turns out that cartilage got pushed and dislocated a bit. The Doc will take a look at it and manipulate the cartilage to realign it if necessary. Cartilage heals much more quickly than bone so let's hope that is all it was. It is very painful though and my worry is that it could affect her psyche....not wanting to get it reinjured.
Love ya, RB! Heal up real quick!

Everyone needs to prepare themselves for Beers to be out for the remainder of the season. Good Lord, this isn't like a close relative getting their biopsy result. Raegan either plays or she doesn't. We don't have to "prepare ourselves" for anything.

The shot they showed of her before the usc game and the smile she flashed didn’t indicate any lost teeth or even any noticeable swelling. I assume the “black eye” look that usually accompanies a broken nose was covered by makeup. But I’m no doctor. I don’t even play one on message boards.

Everyone needs to prepare themselves for Beers to be out for the remainder of the season. That would be a huge bummer. Her health is the most important, obviously. And I'm sure it's killing her to be sidelined! Bottomline is for this team to make a run in the tourney, Beers needs to be out there.
