On Lily Hanford she doesn't square her shoulders up to the basket, but leads with her left shoulder there by exposing the ball to be easier blocked by the defender. Seems to me there used to be a couple of old pros that shot that way. The exact opposite of a hook shot which you use your non-shooting to protect your shot. Lily is best suited for a zone defense or getting a pass from a penetrating guard or Beers. Don't get me wrong I'm a fan of hers. Kind of like this? Yep! Kind of like that!

Good point on Weise, but Syd was different. Syd was a PG with great mobility to get herself free and quickness to drive to the basket. Hanford is a SG who gets her points on open set shots. She recently got her first basket that was not a 3 pointer.

The game where it was apparent that the Beavs offense rotated around Raegan,.

It's not the number of shots that were blocked but the number of times that she turned down shots because she didn't have the space or time to launch.

Lily, please, never pass when you're open outside. Spice it like Curry!

All this game really proved (once again) is how important Beers is to this team. Yeah, the lack of effective offense was bad. Few players were able to step up at all and nobody was able to kind of take over on offense and make a real difference (I will say I thought Timea kept her intensity at a good level and tried but just couldn't make it happen). I will add that I think all the players tried hard enough. It didn't help that Rueck seemed to want to stick to what typically works with Beers in the game. But as others have pointed out, losing a star (post) player hurts just about any team out there. It's not as if OSU's play has hit disastrous levels. IMO, the Beavers were pretty solid against USC and they were good enough to win on the road against WSU. We've seen how good this team can be with Beers. To me, that's the real OSU women's basketball team.
