Trevor's in the starting lineup for the Twins. I thought this was a joke, they're actually playing the Twins? Has an MLB team ever played a college team before and I'm just oblivious to it? College teams play MLB Spring Training teams all of the time. FanGraphs indicated that about seven teams play MLB teams every year from 2009-2018. |

The Huskies did lead briefly, though. The Spring Training teams are playing college teams right now as kind of a last tune-up before Spring Training begins in earnest. |

The Spring Training teams are playing college teams right now as kind of a last tune-up before Spring Training begins in earnest. thanks, couldn't remember who it was. Feels like the Red Sox do this almost every year with one of those teams. Beavs could take on the Mariners, but it might hurt the RPI. |

The University of Tampa beat the Phillies 6-2 back in 2015. It should be said that the University of Tampa was the #1 team in D2 and would go on to win the D2 College World Series in 2015. The Orioles lost to the State College of Florida Community College back in 2012, but the Orioles supplied the State College of Florida with pitchers and catchers. The Canes beat the Marlins 9-8 in 2011. The Pirates lost to the State College of Florida 6-4 straight up back in 2009. It should be said that what typically happens in the college upsets over the MLB teams that the MLB teams get out to a decent lead and then sub everyone out in about the fifth or sixth and the college teams come back late against the MLB teams' second teams. |
