I was beginning to take a disliking to this HR Race thread....because I was (mistakenly) thinking: Home Runs be damned.....
Too many strikeouts!
So I took a look at some in-Conference numbers of the 4 top PAC 12 teams.
To my surprise: OSU strikes out 5.1 times for every HR, UO 6.1 SO per, Utah 6.7 per, and AZ 9.2 per. OK, but what about OBP in conference games? Utah .396 / OSU .389 / AZ .355 / UO .325 Of course, following 4 games against the Ducks in which the Beavs hit 4 HRs and struck out 47 times (11.7 SO for every HR), the recent trend is dismal. Playing upcoming series against the only two teams (if the season ended today) that would not qualify for the 9-team Conference Tournament in Scottsdale, will hopefully be the tonic to reverse that trend.

Oregon, Oregon State, and USC are the only three Pac-12 teams that have not already played Wazzu. Oregon State and Stanford are the only two Pac-12 teams that have not already played UCLA. Oregon State is the only team that has not already played at least one of the two. Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Utah, and Washington have already played both. Arizona and Utah sit atop the conference. The Wildcats went 6-0 against the Bruins and Cougs. Utah went 5-1 against the pair. The Beavs need to go at least 5-1 over the next six conference games, just to keep pace with the Utes and Wildcats.

Ofc Utah has to play a redhot UO as n the road, Arizona at home and finish at a sneaky USC. Of the top 3 teams I like our schedule haha

Productive day. Through 7 Baz has shattered the single season HR record at 24. The team now has 90 which is the new team dinger record.
We are in the 46th game.

What are the odds that Turley heats up and also breaks Wilson’s record?

What are the odds that Turley heats up and also breaks Wilson’s record? Based on last year? High.

What are the odds that Turley breaks Travis's career home run mark? Travis hit 17 IIRC in his first two years and Gavin now has 30 and counting in his sophomore season. Whatever Travis's career mark ends up, it might not be the record for long.

He didn’t say anything about Turley staying 4 years. Gavin is only 13 behind him right now, so it’s very possible he could catch him next year.

Turley will be here next year so if he has a 20+ HR season he probably has a shot at it.
