Poor Krieg is great at crowding the plate. I think he has more HBP than starts.

Ks not being viewed as important by MLB is utterly hogwash! It's a huge issue within the teams and MLB admin. There have been months with over a 1000 more Ks than hits. They are the ultimate "wasted" out where no pressure is put on anyone having to make a play. Dbl plays are two outs, but several defensive plays have to be executed. And, many times are not. Ks are also a game management nightmare. They are the main cause of game times running long. You don't have to be a brain surgeon to know Ks and K rate is a huge negative. Nor have to search hard to find articles like: www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/31454952/how-k-became-most-destructive-letter-major-league-baseball

Poor Krieg is great at crowding the plate. I think he has more HBP than starts. Seven HBPs. 5 starts. Story checks out. Krieg's seven HBPs leads the team, which is something, because that is in only 24 plate appearances. Trent Caraway is second in HBPs with three and that is in 54 plate appearances. Krieg is getting plunked more than five times as often as Caraway. Caraway and Krieg have half of Oregon State's HBPs between them. I should note that Krieg is killing it in OBP. His .583 is tied for the best on the team with Travis Bazzana. Krieg has reached in all seven games that he played in this year and the last two that he appeared in last year. Nine straight games. The game before that, Krieg pitched and did not hit.

"Take one for the team ?"
Meh . . . "how about take a few for the team?"
It was an interesting debut for Sacramento State outfielder Matt Masciangelo. The transfer from CSU Bakersfield was hit by a pitch seven times in eight plate appearances in a doubleheader loss to Loyola Marymount on Friday (and was hit one time in Saturday’s win). Masciangelo was hit by a pitch just one time in 26 plate appearances last year at CSU Bakersfield.
