Not that any of us want to rewatch... here's a clip of the Pac-12 TV coverage of the foul on Raegan. I hope she does bounce back as soon as she can. Previous comment said broken nose, any confirmation? Dang, dare I say that Rice is sticking her elbow out as a weapon - you can plainly see it in the slow-mo replay. "Here, smell my armpit while I break your nose." Sorry, that really p***d me off - am I reading too much into that elbow? I don’t see any intent there. It was a basketball play. It was called a Flagrant 1 since there was contact to the head, but there’s nothing there that can definitely be seen as intent to upgrade that to a Flagrant 2. That type of play happens quite often. It’s just really unfortunate for Beers.

Scott said on the post game radio interview that the last play was drawn up by Aleah in the huddle. Watching the replay, she was definitely the one spelling out the play and doing the talking. Such a great addition to the coaching staff for a number of reasons and kudos to Scott to giving her the leeway to do that. Aleah was the #1 add to this team from last season, player or coach. Rueck stated on the post game radio interview that he called the 2nd timeout as he did not like how the out-of-bounds play Rueck called was setting up. So after the 2nd timeout, he went to Aleah and said what should we run. Aleah had a play already drawn up but Rueck didn't have it on his play sheet so he just had Aleah run that final huddle. That is who Aleah Goodman is to Coach Rueck. Love that story.

I gotta get away from this screen, so much content ! The fans, esp. students, take note, it's always fun to watch this team, come back again, eh?

It looks like Rice deliberately raised her elbow and aimed for Raegan’s face. Yes, on a left-handed layup there is no need to lead with your right elbow that high, and that extended. Gardiner has really blossomed into the player she was touted to be in the last month or so. In our last six games we have defeated #3, # 16, #20, #4 and #9. Giant killers.

For the Beavs to pull out that game after losing Beers (2 points and one rebound) less than one minute into the second quarter and rally down by 7 points late in the fourth quarter to beat #9 UCLA, it is a testament to Talia and the coaching staff for instilling the belief that they could get it done at Gill with others playing key roles.
Talia gave us Beavs fans two game-winning buckets in the final three seconds to celebrate last night. When was the last time any of us saw back-to-back clutch plays by a Beaver in the game's final seconds to win an important game? One super clutch play is memorable. Two do-or-lose clutch plays by the same player in the final seconds of the same regulation game are the stuff of legends.
