Rintaro Sasaki is a 17 year old Japanese phenom hits soaring home runs and he hits them often - 140 in fact during his high school career to date. Sasaki, 6 feet tall and 250 pounds, was projected to be the top pick in the Nippon Professional Baseball draft before he made his decision to forgo it.
Sasaki has played first base at Hanamaki-Higashi High, where his father Hiroshi Sasaki coaches. MLB superstar Shohei Ohtani attended the same high school and was also coached by the elder Sasaki.
Sasaki has signed a letter of intent with Stanford University. This will shorten his path to the 2027 MLB Draft.
