A few years ago some thought the 3 year extension was warranted. I thought his contract allowing for a one year extension was good enough. Wonder if those that thought the 3 year ext was a good deal still think so. But Elite 8!!! Hogwash. Love the sarcasm. Some for sure have buyers remorse. But they will never admit it.

So Beavers have 3 conference wins at home. They’ve now played two of those teams on the road. They beat USC by 16 and ASU by 13 at home. Lost to USC by 28 and ASU by 18 on road. That’s pretty impressive (depressing) home vs road swing.

First, it was a joke. Second, even if it wasn’t what makes you think I haven’t done analysis. Third, you think the Beavers will shoot 49 FTs again and/or make 29 in this game? Fourth, since you say Beavers should easily win this game if they can play at the level they did last game against ASU, if it doesn’t happen who are you going to blame? We know you won’t blame Tinkle. Go Beavs. Come back home with a W. Failures and successes ultimately lie with Tinkle. I try and stay positive in-season, especially when we are talking about a guy who has $8.7 million left on his current contract. Talking about what drastic changes Oregon State should or should not make over the next two years is largely an exercise in laughable futility, unless someone on here is holding out on a couple of million dollars to make everything that they are advocating work. This may be Oregon State's last trip to Tempe for some time. I assume that it will be entertaining and memorable. Let's win one for old OSU, fellas! Yeah, but I thought “exercises in laughable futility” were kind of your thing. I mean you did recently make several long posts on why Beavers should have made a past NIT. Fairly certain your raging wasn’t going to change that. I believe WT will be coach next year. Sure as hell hope not, but very likely. I see the conjecture around Tinkle being fired/possible replacements talk on here as a good thing. First, it shows there are still people who care about the program. Looking at game threads and attendance, it seems that number is dwindling so seeing some kind of life even if you think it is negative is a good thing. Plus, it’s therapeutic. Without the conjecture, my hate for the administration and what they’re doing to completely destroy the program by keeping a guy that will have the worst 3-year stretch in program history could get to the point that I just wash my hands of OSU basketball. That final point is why I don’t see how OSU can keep WT past next year. At some point, they have to look beyond the money owed WT and realize they are leaving money on the table with lost revenue due to attendance, etc. But even more importantly probably is they are keeping future money from ever making it on to the table. There seems a pretty good chance that Tinkle won’t right the ship next year. That means there will be an entire class at OSU who has never had much of a reason to be an OSU basketball fan nor a reason to support the program in the future. Two more years of Tinkle after that means 2 more classes for which basketball is dead to them. The sad thing is that I think there are very few “exercises in laughable futility” occurring among the student body surrounding the bball program cuz they don’t care. That is scary and will likely end up more costly than working out some type of arrangement with Tinkle.
