Road win incoming. Thoughts? Prayers? Arizona State is very much Jekyll and Hyde. They won the first four Pac-12 games. Then, the Devils lost seven of eight. And just when you thought that Arizona State was lost, they went into Salt Lake City and won. (Utah was swept by the Arizonas, and those are the Utes' only losses in Salt Lake since last year.) The Devils have lost three of the last four at home with the only win being against USC, the Trojans being one of three Pac-12 teams to have not won a conference road game yet (on a brief glance, Oregon State and Utah being the other two). Recently, Arizona State has been very strong at home, so the recent home woes are new. Oregon State's win over Arizona State earlier this year is the Beavs' largest over the Devils since 2010. That 2010-11 team went on to lose by 14 in Tempe. Oregon State has not swept Arizona State since 2007. That was a weird year, though, as those two represented were a majority of Oregon State's Pac-10 wins, the Beavers and Devils finishing at the bottom of the Pac-10. A win this year would be Oregon State's most lopsided sweep of Arizona State since 1992, when the Beavs beat the Devils by a combined 22 points. Oregon State has not followed up a win at home against Arizona State with a win at Tempe since 1989-90. So, if the Beavs can pull of the win at Tempe, it would be the biggest win in Tempe in 34 years. The 1989-90 and 1991-92 seasons are the only two in Oregon State history, where a Beaver team won by more than eight in Corvallis and managed to complete the sweep in Tempe later in the season. I should add that 1989-90 Oregon State ended up winning the Pac-10 but losing to Arizona State in Tempe in the 1990 Pac-10 Tournament.

We are not beating ASU on the road. We aren't beating Washington in Seattle. We aren't beating Virginia in Charlottesville.

The Beavs are seven-point dogs in Tempe. The Beavs are 2-8 over their last 10 games but are 6-4 ATS in that time.

I am saying that Oregon State has shown that they can win this game, and Oregon State has shown that they can lose this game. I am saying that Arizona State has shown that they can win this game, and Arizona State has shown that they can lose this game. IMHO, predicting defeat, without analysis, before the game tips is dumb, just as predicting victory, without analysis, is dumb. Although, predicting defeat, without analysis, on a Beaver board seems dumber than most posts. Arizona State seemed completely lost before the trip to Salt Lake. I am hoping that the game is an aberration, rather than an indication that Hurley has righted the ship. The Beavs beat the Devils by 13 in Corvallis and that was with a load of missed free throws. The Beavs should easily win this game, if they can play to the level that they played at 18 days ago.

We're winless on the road this season. We're something like 1-38 on the road over the last three seasons. Wednesday is a road game.
There's your analysis.

This is either the first or second-most winnable road game left on the schedule (depending on how you rate the trip to Berkeley), and I just do not believe that we are getting skunked on the road this year.

Third, you think the Beavers will shoot 49 FTs again and/or make 29 in this game? Fourth, since you say Beavers should easily win this game if they can play at the level they did last game against ASU, if it doesn’t happen who are you going to blame? We know you won’t blame Tinkle. Go Beavs. Come back home with a W.

I try and stay positive in-season, especially when we are talking about a guy who has $8.7 million left on his current contract. Talking about what drastic changes Oregon State should or should not make over the next two years is largely an exercise in laughable futility, unless someone on here is holding out on a couple of million dollars to make everything that they are advocating work. This may be Oregon State's last trip to Tempe for some time. I assume that it will be entertaining and memorable. Let's win one for old OSU, fellas!
