My thinking is that UW, UCLA, USC, uo, Cal, and possibly Stanford take a hit in recruiting the West. Big10 has terrible baseball in cold climates with long distance travel. ACC is good, but the travel is so bad. Will the top West baseball players prefer to play for OSU, WSU, and the Big12 schools? Does Big West, Mountain West, and WCC schools see a bump in talent? Curious how this shakes out.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I doubt there will be any great effect but I'm not positive about that and if there is, I'd watch UW, UO and Cal. UCLA and USC are warm weather programs with long standing tradition and stability. Stanford shouldn't suffer at all because they recruit kids nationally with high academic profiles and almost no one turns down a Stanford admission. Last year they admitted less than 4% of 35,000 applicants. "If you are smart enough to get in, don't be dumb enough to turn it down".
With UW and UO, you not only have programs with modest success, the burden of travel, and the weather isn't great either. Cal is a program that was dropped - not many care about Cal baseball.

I think your on to something. For the Big 10, not only cold weather, long travel, but a drop in competition.... they won't be playing the Arizona schools, Bay Area or us unless they schedule OOC.
Another wave of regret could be coming on the horizon for those schools UO and UW baseball.
Curious to see how the Arizona schools do in the Big 12. My guess is they will recruit just fine and experience the same level of success as when they were Pac 12.
Time will tell.

I think the Arizona schools are sitting the best at taking on talent that might not want to play in the Big10 but still play in the West. Players want to play in front of their friends and family, and long travel to cold weather sites can hamper their recruiting efforts in the West.

I expect Fullerton, Irvine, Long Beach, Santa Barbara, Riverside, Bakersfield and Northridge will hammer the "play in California in front of your parents and friends" card to death when recruiting local kids against UCLA and USC. As well they should. As will SDSU, Fresno State and San Jose State.
There are a ton of options for "big time" baseball for SoCal recruits that don't involve trips to New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania and the Midwest.

Yes, and the best option is in Corvallis, Oregon.
