Oldie but a goody. What a pitching performance. Also it's easy to forget how smooth Grenier was. Oh and Gretler had a great arm at 3rd.

The announcer said Able had given the team 6 as opposed to femmel and heimlich. What was he talking about? He was talking about their starts. At the time, Kevin Abel had completed six innings in both of his starts. The longest start outside of Abel at Omaha was Heimlich's against Arkansas, which only got into the fifth. Fehm threw to one batter in the fifth in his start against Washington, which was his longest start at Omaha. Fehm's second-longest start was his start against Mississippi State, which went into the fourth inning. Otherwise, neither Fehm nor Heimlich escaped the third inning.
