This Beaver team didn’t shy away from the physical play today. They pushed the pace enough to make Utah expend a lot of energy on the defensive end. I wish the refs would of rung up the Utah coach because she obviously wanted to hit the showers early.and get on the bus.

Pili is a lot of fun to watch.
Rees's best game yet, and she seemed reeeaaaly happy about it. She was friendly with the Utah players, wonder if maybe not so much with the coaches?
Hunter has just exploded these last couple of games. Defensively the really good guards could make her look bad at the beginning of the year, but not any more. She has gotten much more aggressive offensively and it is paying off big time...errr bigly I think we say nowadays.
AJ was just off this game after having a great game against Colorado, but now with the team depth that isn't a problem.
Beers had a much better game offensively, but again not much in the way of rebounds. She's doing some weird legs stretches, I wonder if her legs are bothering her?
TVO had a solid game both offense and defense. And she is beginning to figure out how to score even though the other teams double or triple team her drives.
Shuler was having a hard time but still came up with 5 assists with no TO's.
Lily needs a nickname. Da Dagger? And solid on defense too.
Paurova is a victim of her own success. Other teams are paying attention to her drives so she needs to expand her game.
Blacklock missed her first shot, but she knows shooters got to shoot. And she made the next shot.
Heide wasn't in long, but she changed two players minds about going to the basket to score.
Gardiner was on fire out there. All these rebounds are MINE!! Love to see her blossoming.
The Beav's are figuring out that you can get steals and still stay in their defensive position.

It's pretty obvious at this point that this is just a special team - one that kept a solid core of veterans from last year's squad, but upgraded very significantly with new players in areas of great need. That's just fantastic recruiting, plain and simple. Not only are the Beavs strong at every position - they can bring reserve players into the game who are also very strong in their roles.
The uptick in the quality of play over the past 2-3 weeks is nothing short of astounding. Good for them, and good for us. Go Beavs!

Really happy for Kelsey Rees, to have played so well with her father in town. Kelsey really had a great weekend. Her defense was solid, and Kelsey made key contributions on offense. Maybe Kelsey will play at OSU next year with her last year of eligibility?

Maybe Kelsey will play at OSU next year with her last year of eligibility? I'm not sure why she wouldn't. Although I don't think the players are thrilled about playing in the WCC, I don't get the feeling it's some sort of deal breaker for them. IMO, if this team continues on the upward path it's on right now, there's reason to believe it will be a favorite to win the WCC and very possibly the big favorite. Just beef up the nonconference games (if possible) and the Beavers could be set up to land a decent NCAA seed. Success this season will help enormously if the team stays intact for 2024-25.

Anybody know what the FG shooting percentage was and if it might be an OSU record? It was really high for a lot of the game but cooled off in the last few minutes. Edit: Looks like the record is .719 set in 1981. Not sure if it dipped too low today or not.

Speaks for itself. No caption required. Pili had a rough game. She scored a lot of points but had to put up a lot of shots to get them. I don't know if she has ever been blocked so many times in a game and from so many players.
