get your ass beat in embarrassing fashion by a couple good, but not elite teams, turn around and beat an elite Arizona team you were 18.5 point home dogs to...
Jesus.

Almost identical shooting stats to the USC game. Didn't think it would happen again. Can it a third time? On the road? Zona being out of timeouts was a huge help. I'd assume they'd have called one after the 2nd make/tie game to set up a D to keep the ball out of Pope's hands, or at least double him to get it out of his hands. After disappearing on the Mtn trip Pope made up for it. But, it is becoming very apparent that as Pope goes so does this team. There is just not great 3rd option after he a Tyler and one really should have developed by now.

Unfortunately, those kinds of nights aren’t common — not just for Beavers but for all teams. The big issue of late has been D. Last night it wasn’t very good nor for much of the conference schedule. Bit strange since in past years that has been a strength. Great offense saved us last night, but can’t expect shooting nights like that. Would love to see more Beaver-like D going forward.

Arizona basically lived at the rim and I'd have to say it was one of the few games I skipped to watch delayed. But, not only did OSU shoot well, some were just plain... well, fortunate. Also, OSU fans can not complain about the officiating as SEVERAL pretty obvious calls/non calls went their way. But, that is the stuff that has to happen to win games like that. The league is very weird. Utes absolutely demolish OSU, but get demolished at WSU. If I'm not mistaken the Utes have also not won on the road! This might end up being one of those (3) team NCAA years.

This might end up being one of those (3) team NCAA years. Five teams with top 50 NETs. Should be five teams. Washington has an NET well within the NIT range. Everyone else needs to win more or improve their NET. Oregon State needs to win at least 7 of the final 12 to start talking about the NIT or 8 of the final 12 to start talking about the Tourney without putting together a just monster run at T-Mobile Arena. Before then, Oregon State is going for its first sweep of the Arizona schools since 2015, Tinkle's first year. Tinkle is looking to become the first coach to sweep the Arizona schools twice since Ralph Miller swept the Arizona schools three straight years, 1982-1984. (Arizona State famously crushed Oregon State in Corvallis by 20 to end the 1981 regular season on a very sour note.) Miller did not sweep the Arizona schools over his final five seasons.

But, they definitely need all 3 of those guys to show up every night to have a chance against the better teams. ASU will be a tough match-up. They are small but quick. Hopefully, we will look at playing the line up that finished the game last night a little more versus ASU. KC is just not going to be very effective defensively against ASU.

I don't think the NCAA Tournament happens without 20-21 wins unless we win the Vegas tournament. If we get in, there will probably be dancing in the streets.

I don't think the NCAA Tournament happens without 20-21 wins unless we win the Vegas tournament. If we get in, there will probably be dancing in the streets. I was looking at some projections indicating that Oregon State would need to win 11 games from here on out to (probably) get into the Tournament. (There is a chance that Oregon State would need fewer wins but would involve things beyond the Beavers' control, like opponents and opponents' opponents winning.) Moving up the 70 or so spots in the NET in order to crash the NIT is probably more reasonable. In looking through everything, it is interesting to note that Team Rankings indicates that Oregon State has played the second-most difficult Pac-12 schedule so far. It's all downhill from here!
