Watching that video, it almost seems like Bill Walton talks non-stop, some of it about basketball. Bill can get annoying and really go off the deep end sometimes, but I actually like him overall. And he’s usually good for a great line or two. One from last night went something like: — At beginning of second half he was commenting about WT not starting KC in second half because of him having 3 fouls in first half. His broadcast partner said something like, “Wooden never changed second half starting lineup because you had 3 fouls?” He replied, “he was more likely to change the refs if I had 3 fouls at halftime. |

Game started too late for me here (11 p.m.) so I just turned in, thinking they'd lose anyway.
Then I woke up to this! Whoa, where did that come from?! The Beavs obviously dug down deep and wanted this really badly. Must have been a great time in the old house last night!

That game sure “stirred the echos” at Gill. So glad for the student section in particular, that was a memory of a lifetime evening! I was at the Dino Tanner game as a student, and that is one of the few very special OSU basketball memories I have from my student years. A night like that is what kids dream about for their college experience.

We've been through a lot as a fan base. I know not everything is 'great' with Tinkle and the basketball program, but for one day, it was GREAT TO BE A BEAVER again. That was cathartic. And frankly I love Walton- he was gushing hyperbole of course (was there a line in there about Tinkle being one of the nation's best coaches? lol)- there's a lot wrong with college sports these days, but he's a breath of fresh, old school, folksy, colloquial, call it what you want, air.
