I think to be fair to WSU and AZ, I don't think the fans knew anything. I had no idea about any of this with JDL, but then again, I don't follow those teams. Some parallels to our own scandal with an "Adjudicated youth" athlete. Another situation where nobody knew anything until somebody spilled the beans. In this case, it appears it was NIL collectives in Texas saying they won't sponsor him. Lots of questions why this was never a thing before, but suddenly was at Texas St.

The guy who recruited him, Craig Stutzmann just left Texas State to become San Jose State’s OC. That might have more to do with it. Coach Stutz was the one who vouched for him.
