Eggers was the perfect story teller for this one.
How good was Pat Casey?
I'm reminded of the old Bum Phillips quote when he was asked how good was Bear Bryant.
"He can take your'n and beat his'n or he can take his'n and beat your'n."

I'd write something but after an article like that what more could you say.

That article was raw meat. No hearsay, speculation, deduction, inuendo, or anon-sources. Factual stuff with real people and real events.
KE can be awesome.

Wow, that was a great read! Pat Casey is the epitome of what a ball coach should be.
Sidenote......I took my son to an OSU baseball camp this weekend. The coolest part was Coach Canham playing a game of flip with my son and a few other boys who were gathered in a circle, as everyone was checking in....just like he was one of the boys!......and then the talk he gave to all of us parents gathered around as the camp got underway. It was F'n awesome! Casey knew Canham would be a great leader.....I tend to agree! And the fact that the program is full of Casey guys....Wong, Gipson, Taylor, Gorton, Dorman.....they were all around during the camp.....it was a great experience! Great addition getting Zak Taylor back to Corvallis!

We were so fortunate to have a coach like Pat Casey at OSU. That guy is the real deal.
