Maybe fans in the stadium consider those at home to be pretenders or fair weather fans. Just an observation from going to a playoff game in Green Bay.

Volunteers shovel out the snow before every home game at Lambeau.

You know who REAL FANS are? They are fans who stuck with a team for 28 consecutive losing seasons. Some here can take a bow.

Fans actually get an hourly rate to shovel at Lambeau. And there is usually a long line of folks who want to shovel.

It takes real grit to stick with something when it is not going very well (ask me about my wresting "career.") Related to this, I have been a Mariners fan since 1977. I was hoping to see them in the World Series during my lifetime. I don't think it is going to happen. That's being a REAL fan (and probably clueless ) too!

The last three seasons have been the best three consecutive Mariner seasons in the past 20 years. It seems like the Mariners are peaking. I personally like other teams more than the Mariners, but it is not time to give up on 'em.

Initially, I was referring to the family PLOWING their way thru a couple feet of snow to their seats.

And I have not given up on them--I still have my season ticket package. Their superior starting pitching (and their general overall excellent pitching in general) is great, but it also can only take them so far. They still gotta score runs, and the line up right now does not inspire a high degree of confidence. We'll see what happens.
