Bray is a lot different than our former head football coach. Much less coach speak cliche answers and more genuine responses. Probably just a difference in personality type. Bray is going to do just fine at his new job.

Dashel said Cookus will not be special teams coach but will likely return as an analyst. Its undecided whether there will even be a special teams coach.

USC was able to 'buy' a couple of our players. That is straight fire...I like his style.

Having Gray and Brewer (if healthy) back on the OL is huge. I've been operating on the assumption that Gray was gone. Great news to have him back!

A lot of that is that Bray is talking to Eggers - a guy that he can trust to not try to warp his meaning. It makes a big difference when you are talking to someone like Kerry and not a room full of reporters who are looking for click-bait.

I love the positive leadership style... not Pollyanna, not sunshine pumper.
One sets positive expectations and those around will believe. Leadership knows the obstacles but refuses to focus on any negative.

Plenty of competitive talent but we need at least one guy that knows what he's doing and is good enough to lock the position.

The OL was going to be retooled no matter what next season. Hence, playing together and the communication, verbal & physical, is key.
They all know what they are doing. DeVan might teach some variations on techniques and schemes, which is new to everyone. But, they've all been D1 OL for multiple seasons.

If Gray and Brewer are indeed coming back for next season, this is by far the biggest bit of info from this story. This would be an astronomically huge change from what pretty much all of us thought was going to be the situation of rebuilding the OL. Obviously, getting Gray back at LT is amazing but we all know that and I don't want to overlook the potential impact of getting Brewer back as well. First, he's 6-4, 323. He has 10 starts between 2021 and 22 (five in 2022 before injury) and was on the Outland Trophy watch list. He is considered to be a very strong run blocker. OSU was fortunate to have Heneli Bloomfield last season. You add Starck and Wells from Colorado and you have what looks to be a very good interior. The only thing left is to figure out who steps in for Fuaga at RT and his shoes were always going to be the biggest to fill (maybe they think about moving Brewer there?). But this is a game changer for the Beavers. Really, really great news if it holds true.

The article was informative and answered questions that I (and probably many others) wondered about.
Some of the little thing for me: - “Keith and I are on the same page on the defensive end,” - [on Gunderson] “... I have been even more impressed listening to him talk about how he is going to create problems for the defense,” Bray says. “We talk quite a bit — me from the defensive standpoint. He asks, ‘Does this give you problems?’ And I’ll tell him what does. It has been fun already working together with him and planning how we can attack people.” - "Bray says the Beavers’ offense in 2024 “will be different” than the one run by Smith and O-coordinator Brian Lindgren at OSU" - quite a few other things that had me shaking my head up and down :^)
A lot of new things to watch - it's exciting and the anticipation is "driving me crazy"!

I hope the offense gets away from weird gambles and gets back to smart explosive plays on 2nd and short. I know it's predictable but if the line can run block I'd hope the majority of series got first down run, take a shot, high probability 3rd and short.

I would think the Colorado tackle would be a backup to Gray and maybe start at RT as well. My thought about moving Brewer out there was just something I was throwing out there. His size makes him a decent fit at RT and I believe he is athletic enough to handle edge guys. Not sure what you mean by Starck or Strand. Starck is a guard and Strand a tackle. I doubt that either would play other spots unless it became necessary. Strand is going to be a backup if Gray is back. He might be able to get in the mix at RT if he puts on some good weight and makes some improvements in the offseason.
