It's about time. Pete is getting up there in age and time to go for some youth. I hear Belechik will be available soon.

Always liked him and thought he was a good guy even back when he was at USC. But I think it was definitely time. And it's nice that he'll still be involved in a certain capacity.

Didn't he leaver USC for the NFL after an NCAA issue? Yes - he knew sanctions were coming, which is one of the reasons he left USC for the NFL. Then, after learning of the sanctions while coaching the Seahawks, he was quoted when asked about USC being penalized by the NCAA - "I am shocked" - right Petey!

Didn't he leaver USC for the NFL after an NCAA issue? Yes, he did. The Reggie Bush debacle. But that involved gifts from agents. It also wasn't limited to football. And the level of the resulting NCAA sanctions were criticized by a lot of people not necessarily tied to USC (not that I personally had much sympathy for the Trojans then). I guess I'm just not big on casting a high level of blame on Carroll just because he wound up leaving after that.

Having watched the 2006 and 2008 Oregon State v. USC slugfests, any day that Pete Carroll is sad is a great day to be a Beaver.
