Nobody likes his decision, but let's be honest, some posters were really minimizing how good he is. I guess USC and Arizona beg to differ. Yeah some said he was not that good. It was weird for them to think that but his offers continue to grow by the day, Maybe he will play at a place where the fans really want him.
Currently per Daschel: Two days after going into the transfer portal, Oregon State WR Silas Bolden has offers from USC, Utah, California, Arizona, Kansas State, Mississippi State, Illinois, Michigan State, Auburn

He’ll probably become a role/gadget type player at his next team. He could be dangerous with a true number 1 with him and he’s an awesome returner.

Lol... "fans really want him". He left. The fans didn't drive him away. Nor does the opinion of his overall skills change one way or another.

Bottom line, he was a dynamic play maker for us. Now he's a free agent, and gonna get a bag.
This is not the same as 4/5 stars on Alabama leaving cuz they're buried on the depth chart.
I'm not going to whine about it, but this is our new reality, so get used to it. Our coaching staffs biggest job moving forward will be anticipating talent getting lured away and filling those holes......at a much higher rate then ever before.

Yup, we are now development and depth for rich teams.

Average Bolden now has offers from Arizona, USC, Utah, Cal, Kansas State, Illinois, Auburn, Michigan State and Mississippi State.
Too bad he's mid tier and short or he might be getting CFP contenders offering.

They now get to do it all out in the open.....through collectives and private individuals of course.....but here we are! It's literally become more about money then building a culture. I mean you can build a culture, and its still important to an extent.....but cash is king! If you have enough of it, you can buy all the good players.

On my "short" comment, I accidentally left out a point I wanted to make- if he was 6 foot+ and with the same speed/quickness attributes he has now, some of the same people deriding his receiving prowess would probably be calling him one of the best receivers we've had.

His size may limit him a bit against physical DB's, but that's the only thing I see as a detriment. I don't buy the catch radius stuff. He's got great hands. He just seems like one of those dudes who defy the stereotypes of the size thing. Also, he's gotten better each season. I think he has a chip on his shoulder to prove the doubters wrong. I think that's what these other teams see in him......that kind of drive, coupled with his speed, is deadly. Will his body hold up? Time will tell I guess.

If my Aunt had gonads, she would be my uncle. IF SB was 6 foot+ and with the same speed/quickness attributes he has now, he would be one of if not THE best receivers OSU has ever had. Cooks is a good example of comparable speed/quickness/hands and he is "only" 5'10".

Cooks is a good example of comparable speed/quickness/hands and he is "only" 5'10". If Silas was 6-3 and 190 he would be Chad Johnson, especially the college version of CJ where Housh was more the 1st option possession wideout. He's got lots of skill and he's a burner. Works hard. Deceptively strong. Good hands too - but when I commented that he doesn't have a big catch radius though, I was accurate. Some guys have that knack to catch anything that comes near them. That comes down to different things than just how good hands are. It's the ability to adjust to a ball in the air, to time the leap where you high point it and take it away from bigger defenders. A sudden extra burst of acceleration to get under a deep ball and pull away from the DB to make the catch. He can step right in and be a big play guy as a WR3. I think he's going to be good enough to start as WR2 at a lot of schools as well.
