Perhaps justifying. I think they would have been rolled by Georgia either way but this isn't the same team that went 13-0. Georgia is playing with the team that went 12-1 with the attrition all being in the 2 and 3 deeps. It's all dumb which is why I'm only checking scores and not watching anything. Georgia is missing their best TE and a starting WR. They would have clobbered FSU even if FSU had a full roster Yeah I said that. Georgia has 3 guys out on injury and FSU has 2 including the starting QB. I think like 3 of their starting DBs and half their line opted out too.

Someone at FSU is rapidly lowering their mythical national championship banner that they were hoisting up a flag pole. They’re proving why they weren’t picked for the playoff. Yeah? I think you're putting the cart before the horse, and you cannot use the bowl game results or the fact that players opted out to justify not picking them for the playoff. I'm not saying that they deserved to be in the playoffs, just that everything after the bowl selections was a direct result of their placement.
Sure you can argue, like Spud, that they had everything to win by showing up and beating Georgia. But I respect them for deciding to essentially boycott the system.
I think Beaver fans could be empathetic. We often get overlooked for the more recognized and "respected" name. Rankings have always favored UW, UofO, USC.
FSU was perfect. They did everything they could but it wasn't enough. And that means the system is broken.

Isn’t that akin to cutting your nose off to spite your face? I’d rather go out fighting 100 times out of 100.

Just that he understands the "if you don't give a rat's a@@ about us, we don't give a rat's a@@ about you" mentality. As has been said ad infinitum, it is their bodies, their choice whether they play or not. Not all protests make sense, but sometimes it feels good to send a message.

I mean, in what way did it hurt FSU? They are already not being taken seriously. I think it probably cost the Network a bit of money since I'm sure the viewership was lower than it would've been had both teams fielded a full team. I don't think it is necessarily wise to play the game and make money for those that are keeping you down.

I certainly don’t care. It’s just that I watched them with their starting Qb and without him. 2 different teams. I was tired of hearing the fawning over the Seminoles. I’m sure I’d feel different if I was a fan!

FSU was perfect. They did everything they could but it wasn't enough. And that means the system is broken. Liberty is undefeated, too. Where are the crocodile tears being shed for them? FSU eliminated themselves by scheduling like cowards, like Liberty. They scheduled both North Alabama and Southern Miss at home, effectively two FCS teams. Schedule aggressively or get left out. I shed no tears for Florida State. And them getting left out and having the ACC implode is all in Oregon State's best interest. Florida State has more money than God and is in prime recruiting ground in Florida. I show no empathy that one power got left out for one that actually scheduled aggressively. They can all slide into the ocean for all that I care. The Seminoles are trash. We knew that they were trash. The Bulldogs proved that they were, who we all knew that they were. I show no empathy, because I know that, reciprocally, they have absolutely zero empathy for us. I will be empathic to fan bases, who show us empathy.

I don't know how much empathy FSU really has for Oregon State but their president or AD (can't remember which) did point out that the ACC took Cal and Stanford over a better choice than Oregon State, which is something, I guess. Also, I would say that the FSU loss to Georgia doesn't really show us much of anything just as OSU's loss to Notre Dame didn't. We really don't know how those games would have come out if all four teams were at full strength. We can only speculate, although Georgia does look really good. But really, the problem lies with the four-team CFP this year. None of this would be relevant if the switch to 12 had already been made.

The Pac-12 never really had a chance with only four teams every year. Without a 6+ team playoff the Pac-12's days were numbered. It would have played out differently, if there had been a 6+ team CFP from the get-go.

That, or maybe if the conference was just better at foosball. The Pac-12 got two teams in in the first nine years of the CFP. Can't tell whether they are good or not without at least an opportunity to play. The conference beat each other up. Plus our perceived national power USC had some struggles over the time. We did not have a lot of teams that had an argument to be in the top 4.

No teams that were head and shoulders above the rest of the conference like the other Power Five Conferences, which often lacked parity. The ACC deciding to stop being a laughingstock the year before the CFP kicked off did the Pac-12 no favors. Now, the Pac-12 is a power and the ACC is a laughingstock again, and it does not matter, because everything is based on what happened a year or two ago.
