This is some serious ruminating going on, but I like it. Is it really possible he gets fired with cause and a with possible damages lawsuit? These are tremendous legal allegations. What are the damages, what is your cause of action, and what proof do you have? Blithering incompetence does not create a cause of action absent bodily or mental harm. You're asking the same questions that I am.

Incompetence to provide adequate leadership and the ability to secure financial stability for the conference (i.e. turning down the ESPN offer) - Damages would be loss of income for teams, loss of conference P5 status with teams leaving to secure financial stability in another conference, etc. etc. etc. It is certainly grounds for dismissal, but as far as a law suit against him, there could be room for the damages that have been caused to OSU and WSU due to incompetence.

As Wilky stated, incompetence is not grounds for a lawsuit.

I believe he didn't turn down the ESPN offer, not his job, he presented it, the conference presidents, maybe with AD input, apparently turned it down.

Supposedly, he countered the ESPN offer, which, arguably, is different than turning it down. The problem was that the counter was $50 million/year/team, which was ridiculous on its face. George K. screwed up by taking that offer to ESPN and/or to not communicate to the Presidents that that was laughable. So far in over his head. Ridiculous that George K. was hired in the first place.

Purely from the non-legal layman's point of view: What about attempting to organize meetings with former board members against the wishes of the current board members (who are ostensibly his boss, for all intents and purposes). The process of adjudication complete, the above is proven true. Is that not arguably cause?

For instance, he told UCLA and USC and a couple other schools that they did not have a vote anymore once they resigned from the conference, but at the court hearing he said they did have a vote.

In the fired managers trial he testified under oath that sc and ucla were no longer board members, in the Whitman county case he testified they were, he perjured himself and should be fired for cause.

Let me quote George K's own words:
“We simply cannot accept the suggestion that only two members. — Oregon State University (OSU) and Washington State University (WSU) — now have the right to determine by themselves all issues affecting the Conference, and determine the course of all revenue coming into the Conference, to the exclusion of the other ten member schools.”
Fine. If you can't accept that which is now fact - GTFO. Do not pass GO, do not collect a penny of severance pay, just get lost. Go back to Vegas and pimp whatever or whomever you were pimping before, if they'll have you.

There was a poster beating the "fire GK" drum for weeks some months back. At the time I wasn't convinced who the primary culprits were behind not obtaining a new media deal. Was it GK, or the Presidents, or maybe a select few Presidents and GK?
I'm still not convinced we have enough inside info to make that determination with certainty, but since GK has piloted the ship a lot of rocks have been hit and teh court record now shows where his allegiances lied. He wasn't looking out for the conference, he was beholden to at least one of the departing members, possibly more than one.
