WTR? Green? Why would he possibly sit out? "NFL prep" for him is beyond ridiculous.

WTR? Green? Why would he possibly sit out? "NFL prep" for him is beyond ridiculous. We still have a lot of players that are considering bailing. Including a couple that are starting the bowl game.

On Green, he could potentially be graduating and heading off to work, or maybe he wants to transfer for a year with a team that needs a punter.

This whole thing about sitting out the bowl game is getting ridiculous along with the transfer portal. Thw transfer portal is the wild west brought to you by the NCAA.

It's me, me, me. None of the three, hodgins, hart, or green have a prayer for the nfl.

Nice to know how important these “minor bowls” are to the players, etc. 🤓. Maybe…..just MAYBE there are too damn many of ‘em. Bowls, not players. Are we going to field two deep? Getting IFFY.

Green had surgery after CW….not an opt out, physically unable to play.

Green had surgery after CW….not an opt out, physically unable to play. Well, OK then, doesn't say so in the story. We are 8-4, ND is 9-3, this isn't a matchup of 6-6 teams. And even if there are too many bowl (the marketplace says otherwise) the Sun Bowl wouldn't be one they get rid of.

Once they move to the 12 team playoff, they should give all teams one week off after the end of the season, then play the lower bowl games and have them count toward the last 6 spots in the playoff- almost like a pre-playoff. Then delay the portal and any coaching changes to the day after the national championship game. It would not be that hard to make some changes.

Maybe…..just MAYBE there are too damn many of ‘em. Agree completely. Do we really need The Pop-Tarts Bowl? The Duke's Mayo Bowl? Or even The Idaho Famous Potato Bowl? "We made a Bowl Game!" isn't the big deal it used to be, particularly if players on both sides are going to bail. But there is $$$$ to be made (by someone), so on we go.

Dec. 16 LA Bowl: UCLA 35, Boise State 22 ABC 1.4 2.38 million Dec. 16 Cure Bowl: Appalachian State 13, Miami (Ohio) 9 ABC 1.2 1.95 million
The first bowls pulled great ratings - so no, there clearly aren't too many bowls.

What a better way to prep for NFL than playing in a nationally televised game?
Maybe we find a 'new starter' that shows he is gonna be a star next year...
More practice time is a bonus of getting a bowl
Besides that..bowls aren't really what they used to be

Seems to me, in a NIL contract, there should be a stipulation that such NIL participant cannot opt-out of a Bowl game, but that's just old-school me.

Players are voting with their feet. Bowl games are an exercise in futility anymore.
Maybe we have some intramural players who can suit up.
