I think they're basing some of their discussion on a couple of tweets thrown out last week by a guy who is right about 20% of the time. He said that TKO was talking to the ACC and the Big12 about some massive media investment that would see those two merge and supposedly there was talk they'd bring in the PAC 2. Might as well have apple buy all three. They could afford it. But then could I afford Apple

What do most sports talk radio/podcast guys do? They speculate. Gotta have content to fill up air time.
I like to speculate that our success over last couple seasons, our eye balls on tv's, and our war chest, will somehow land us in a favorable position. At least in a position to have an outside chance at the playoff. I don't see that being much of a reality with the broke PAC MW. We will not be able to keep enough developed talent, or coaches around, especially with any semblance of success.....I get that we were kind of in the same boat in the PAC, but I see it as getting worse with a re-tooled MW.....unless the NIL, and portal are somehow reigned in....not holding my breath.
If the ACC craters the top schools will likely be poached by the two hog conferences. I could see the rest joining up with the Big 12, and poaching the best MW, AAC, etc type schools. Some kind of Frankenstein conference. I could see us being included in that scenario.....you know the TV execs are paying attention to eye balls on tubes. That still could pay off for us in all this.
In this scenario I could see us as being able to be a bit more of a "destination" relative to being in the MW.
