Yep -I think we have a good group with some potential, but I would like to see a proven portal guy come in, but that will also depend on who the quarterback is.

Definitely want a portal QB though we do have a couple of 3 star QB’s on the roster who might just need a chance to play. Regarding WR’s I’m not sure how bad we need a portal guy. Bolden, Valsin and Card return. We also signed 4 other WR’s in last year’s class who are still here. Hatten, Reddicks, Wells and East. All of whom are between 6’0 and 6’2. Throw Noga in there and we’ve got options. I think they should pick up an experienced big WR if they can. Most of the guys aside from bolden have little to no experience. I do like Valsin tho and I can see him having a big game in the bowl. I don't think we can afford to just stand pat with the guys returning. If you look at the room's productivity for 2023 we have: Bolden and Gould (gone) 700+ yds, Velling (gone) 400+ yds, Irish (gone) 200+ yds. After that we had Valsin, Noga, and Munyagi all in the 100+ range and all had single digit catches total over 12 games. That, in spite of the fact that there was a deliberate attempt to push the ball downfield vertically with a big armed QB who could throw it anywhere on the field. There was plenty of opportunity for a talented WR to emerge. It didn't take Velling long to show what he could do in 2022. I'm not suggesting the 3 100 yd guys are terrible. I just think we need better if we're going to have any kind of serious threat in the passing game next year. I was disappointed in our productivity through the air as a whole this past year. I think we need to bring in 2 WR through the portal. Then lets let the cream rise to the top. If it turns out we already have a WR or two among our freshman group who turn out to be better than the portal guys, great.

Yes, however the word, “commitment” has most definitely lost its former luster.

Yes, however the word, “commitment” has most definitely lost its former luster. Well, it basically follows societal trends as "marriage" falls into the same category!
