I really don't get what the problem was with this one . A tribute to a long time rival ? You all or heartless . He may not have coached OSU but he did coach against us and led a very colorful life but well liked and even loved by those who knew him . he was a big part of the Pac 10 and 12 . Nobody reads the posts in this section because many do not know that it exists and I am getting so tired of the " Oh he must be a troll since he doesnt post what we like or he posts in the wrong place . One of the reasons I became a Beaver over 40 years ago was that I was never made to feel like an outsider or an underdog . I saw Beaver fans who treated others with a lot more class and respect than another program I won't mention . Times have changed and so have a lot of you . I see so much back biting and trashing of each other on this board lately and much of it seems to have begun with the leaving of the other ten teams . There is a lot of bitterness , anger and self pity going on and your all taking it out on each other . There has always been some disagreements and low key sniping on this board but never as much as I have seen since the Pac fell apart and Smith left . You need to take a second and look at yourselves in the mirror . I am just as much a Beaver as any of you and I always will be . Maybe not in the way you like but I am and if you cannot accept that you can kiss my sorry ass . GO Beavers ! The problem is that the "Those of Iron" board is for only Beaver football related posts. The Rotating Tap is for sports posts not directly tied to OSU football. You would've been fine if you would have posted this on the Rotating Tap. But, you can't seem to follow directions. just heartless Smails, what would Mike say?!? |

Who passed away one year ago today . I recall reading some of your anecdotes about him in the past and you must have some memories of his colorful life . Please share Who can forget his “fat little girlfriends” rant at Texas Tech? |

I said it a year ago...He was the John Madden of college football. Sort of agree if he'd ever made it into the booth and more people got to know him. Could you imagine him doing color for games?? It would be fantastic... unless you cared about the game. Now pair him and Walton on some type of broadcast   |

I still find it hilarious every time I watch it. I don't know if there's another version, seemed the sound quality was better last time I watched it. |
