Weird how a strong and athletic 7'2 guy is at a jc. If you watched the video in the article linked above, not hard to see why. He makes Kylor look like a basketball savant. Certainly has some skills though — especially defensively. Plus, not sure how he made his way to States and to Eastern Arizona, but I’m guessing lacked exposure. That he’s getting interest with just one year at JC says something. Looked at the schools website and found a box score Cochise College 22 mins 4-8, 0-1, 1-3 9 pts, 10 rebs, 2 assists, 4 blocks. 2 TO, 2 fouls That is pretty similar to season stats on the site: 18.9 mpg. 58.7% from field on 6.5 shots per game, 47.2 FT% and 9.1 ppg Based on those stats and the video, I’d guess he has very little offensive game other than dunks or within 5-feet of basket. So certainly a project, but likely one worth taking for some schools — and I’d put Beavers in that group. Especially given how much value WT puts on bigs who can block shots. He’s willing to forego some offense to have that defensive safety net. |
