There is work to be done.
The Spartans have lost 21 veteran players to the transfer portal, including starters and back-ups. That's roughly 25% of an 85 man roster roster.
The Spartans have lost 9 of their 16 man recruiting class including four 4* recruits. One 4* and 6 others remain committed for now.
The new staff at MSU will need to to excel in the Portal to recover and replace some of the losses. They will also need to flip some preps that are committed elsewhere. The field by December is fallow.
They hired Joe Rossi, the Minnesota Gopher's D/C to coordinate their defense.
