College-athlete plaintiffs' lawyers Steve Berman and Jeff Kessler have filed a new suit against the NCAA and the Power Five conferences. This case -- on behalf of 3 athletes challenges what the complaint calls the NCAA's rules prohibiting pay for play.

If the suit is successful, pretty much ensuring 1 or 2 super conferences.

I guess they should stop screwing around and start drafting and capping wages. Just like other Pro Teams. At least the left out kids and other non competing teams can try using old methods to get new athletes. Or for many just drop the whole damn program.

Combine this effort with the Title IX suit against University of Oregon right now and we can see how the football bubble is going to pop.

Combine this effort with the Title IX suit against University of Oregon right now and we can see how the football bubble is going to pop. How can the Beach Volleyball team expect to compete - Eugene being the true Mecca for beach volleyball - it seems like they can barely keep the girls in thongs. Beach volleyball at Oregon doesn’t even have a facility. “Oregon does not provide the women’s beach volleyball team with any practice or competitive facilities,” the suit alleges. Instead, the team practices and competes at a public park with no stands for spectators, no doors on the public bathroom stalls and is “frequently littered with feces, drug paraphernalia, and other discarded items.” Nothing says Amazon Park like feces and drug paraphernalia. Welcome to Eugene!

Eliminates the need for scholarships.. Let’s just end the connections with universities. The athletes want the money. The networks want the money. The conferences want the money. Nobody is fighting for education or more hours in the classroom. It’s a farce. And maybe I’m just bitter from watching my university get left behind, but it’s time to end this. It has nothing to do with college or university.

What’s to say colleges couldn’t hire football-playing employees on the open market and grant them eligibility for as many years as they can make the cut? And make attendance or even enrollment 100% optional?

It has nothing to do with college or university. Maybe they could create a league where all the players could go that want to get paid and if they're good enough they could get a good wage or go to the team that gives them the most money. This way, colleges could go back to nurturing student-athletes that love football but want an education to become engineers, doctors, lawyers, accountants, etc! They could call this league something like the Natural Football Lovers or whatever.
