After today's woman-handling of Western Kentucky, the Beavs WBB goes to 6-0, albeit with a weak schedule.
That aside, there are some real 'yucks' (ha ha) available in examining the current NCAA D-1 RPI, with the season nearing it's 1/5 completed point.
Villanova (5-1), with a loss to OSU is RPI 24.
Western Kentucky, after an absolute spanking by the Beavs, is RPI 94.
Beavs WBB, at 6-0, is RPI 106.
not a 'yuck' (ha ha): next opponent Jackson State is RPI 37. They have 3 players 6'5" or on their roster. Two of whom play significant minutes.

Something doesn't add up. Jackson St. has played Southeastern Louisiana, Central Florida, St. John's and Kansas St. (+ 3 non-D1 schools that can't be calculated in RPI). K State can't be dragging up their numbers that much can they? The rest of that schedule ain't much. And they lost to KSU 79-37.
Yeah, those numbers are junk. It's early, but even later in the season the numbers are often suspect. I think RPI has been thrown out the window though hasn't it? Replaced by a different formula that is just as questionable.
