Interested to see what this new scheduling agreement means for Beaver baseball in 2025. A move into the MWC just spells bad news for our future. Bottom of the barrell RPI conference nationally and unless our out of conference schedule is loaded you would have to win an auto bid via MWC tournament. I've never seen a school go independent for baseball but that seems like best case because none of the other conferences on the west coast hold a light to the PAC12 RPI wise. Hate it for recruiting purposes too because it just takes away from our overall national relevancy in baseball. Looking forward to 2024! Hoping we can pull off a PAC12 Championship and a trip to Omaha.

There's talk about going a different direction, like Hawaii. Maybe we go Big West. Maybe we force/convince the Big West and WCC to combine to get the best teams competing against each other.
Win games and we'll be fine. But, yeah, better RPI is important.
I don't see that in the Mountain West as it currently sits.

Like I posted on the recruiting Board, the Beavers don't have to play MWC schedule. They can schedule whoever they want. Play all power 4 schedule. They have a lot of ways they can go. I don't think they will go with a MWC schedule. They don't have to and I hope they don't do it.

(above): " Maybe we force/convince the Big West and WCC to combine to get the best teams competing against each other" - add in a couple teams from the West Coast Conference, and you'd have something...
OR - if the Beavs were to align (baseball-only) with a current western U.S./west coast oriented conference, I believe whichever conference that is (call it " xxx"), by adding a strong program like OSU, would become the premier western U.S. college baseball conference. As an example, the Big West would have UC Santa Barbara - OSU - Cal State Fullerton - UC Irvine...etc. That may be a far cry from the PAC, but from the standpoint of national visibility, and recruiting on the West Coast, it might work. It's reasonable that some high-level Southern/Northern California talent may not want to play most of their games in the Midwest and/or the East.

Plus maybe Grand Canyon for Arizona.

After a close examination of coaching staff and players, it has been decided the Oregon State Beavers will play in the AL West with the Mariners, A's, Angels, Rangers and Astros in 2025.
That should take care of any RPI issue!
