We play nonconference Northwest teams mid-week instead of weekends out of necessity more than choice. It would be nice, if the Ducks could keep up their RPI and then schedule them at least five times, one weekend and two mid-week. The same holds true for Washington. One weekend and at least one mid-week. Stanford should be scheduled end of week. I should add that the Mountain West plays 30 games against the other six teams currently. You play four teams six times and the other two teams twice. With nine teams, Oregon State would, hopefully, play Wazzu home-and-home and one other team home-and-home and then play the other six teams once. That should hopefully help the expected conference RPI hit. But the addition of Oregon State should help everyone's RPI in conference. I seriously doubt that will ever happen. Why? How else would the Mountain West compose their conference schedule? One series home-and-home with Wazzu. One series home-and-home with another team (hopefully San Jose State) and then one series with each of the other six. That makes 30 conference games. 26 nonconference. Honestly, the Pac-2 should join the Mountain West in all sports but baseball. Try and get the Big West to institute a conference tournament and then join the Big West (the Big 12 preferable) in baseball only. Actually, looking at it, any conference is preferable to the Mountain West out west. Join the WAC or the WCC, if the Big West does not play ball.

For some reason I was thinking 6 games in Pullman, 6 games in Corvallis with the Cougs, and then the same thing with say San Jose State, and then one game each against everyone else.

As long as they can find enough opponents then I would think wrestling with it's Dale Thomas money will be fine. But I could be wrong
