The quiet disappearance of Ruben Cedillo. Is he playing somewhere this year?

Not that big a mystery with how the season ended and McDowell and Kasper coming back is it? Hope Ruben does great wherever he is playing this year

Yep, difficult for Cedillo to find the field with what the Beavs are returning in the outfield. Will we see mix and match with lefties, Kasper, McDowell, Macias, Talt and righties Turley, Reeder McEntire and probably Guerra seeing some time in LF ? Great pool of DH's to pick from as well.
Yes, hoping Ruben has a good year somewhere and is continuing his education.

Ruben Cedillo appears to still be at Oregon State, just not on the early roster. Is he planning to utilize his redshirt this year?

Just because he's not on the fall roster doesn't mean he can't be on the spring roster correct? Maybe just a coincidence, but when I saw him this summer playing for the Bend Elks in Portland against the Pickles, they didn't list a college for him. But I'm very aware that those rosters are not always accurate.

He had a great 2023 summer in the WCL w Bend: 22 games / .940 OPS
In a brief pre-game conversation at Vince Genna Stadium (in July?) he hinted he was thinking about Transfer Portal - which I don't believe he actually entered.
Hopefully he can provide value to some program / somewhere.
As a State of Oregon athlete, he a 'notch ahead', in my book.

Unless something weird happened, I do not believe that Cedillo transferred. He may be hurt or is considering redshirting this Fall. Or he could still show up on the roster.

One of the top 2 or 3 hitters on the team in fall ball. Dude hit rockets, great bat speed. Swing got long in the spring. I thought he was going to be a big contributor. To me he is a guy you put in the lineup and tell him you are playing everyday, go play , don’t look over your shoulder. There is talent there

He looked like a lock to be an every day lineup guy.......talent is definitely there. I think he got dinged up didn't he?

Don’t see Cedillo cracking the lineup this year. Did not see him at all this fall. Maybe at a JC? Can anyone confirm if he went into the transfer portal?

He may have transferred to Cal State San Marcos. They play Division 2 baseball, which means that Cedillo would not have to utilize the transfer portal. I have heard nothing definitive, but that may be what happened.

Provided us Central Oregon baseball fans with some thrills in summer ball. Hopefully Escondido-west (San Marcos) can be a good finishing act for his college career. He's one of several talented and promising young men that periodically come up against the juggernaut....(That is): making the roster/finding playing time at an elite baseball program like OSU.

The mystery continues, the Eggers article (posted in another thread) mentions Cedillo as a backup OF and in competition for DH.
