We can do this-- there's PLENTY of indication that there was a LOT of nefarious activity going on LONG before USC/UCLA were induced to leave the PAC. The very last thing that FOX+ESPN+even the Big10 want is to have to open their confidential files during discovery.
After yesterday's court ruling in Washington, if we do bring suit, they'll be at the entrance to Kerr Administration Bldg, hat-in-hand, before the ink is dry on our filing papers.

I'm not sure how "nefarious" one can argue when long after the LA schools were known to be gone, ESPN tried to keep the Pac10 together with a $30 mil/team offer. Pretty solid considering there was no LA market. OSU/WSU do not have the funds, time, or actionable offense for such a suit.

Added to this, ESPN effectively just gave the Big-12 the exact offer it offered us. While corporate greed and TV dollars are the root cause issue, GK's vapid incompetence in negotiation is why we do not have an ESPN deal.

Added to this, ESPN effectively just gave the Big-12 the exact offer it offered us. While corporate greed and TV dollars are the root cause issue, GK's vapid incompetence in negotiation is why we do not have an ESPN deal. And... something that I've never read or at least never seen is the actually negotiating process. Was there a group of Presidents that were entrusted to negotiate? Did they have to bring offers back to the full board for approval? Did counters (like the supposed $50 mil) have to be approved by the full board before presenting it? My issue is that GK is obviously and inept tool, but it seems the entire media negotiations "team"/process was a colossal Eff up. To me, GK is/should be nothing more than a mouth piece for the board. Hence, in some way shape or form he had approval for the ESPN counter. From a group or the entire board. IF not, then he broached his terms of employment by negotiating outside board approval and is reason to terminate with cause. But, I've not seen any clear picture of how this entire negotiation process with ESPN played out. But, I have a feeling it falls at the feet of 12 Presidents. Some may have already had ulterior motives, but it still needs to be spelled out. And, of course is one of the many areas that needs tweaking when setting up new bylaws.

I have followed this whole process closely (for whatever that is worth!) and now have my "Christmas wish list ready" after the latest legal decision,
(1) Under no circumstances I can envision should OSU and WSU agree to a mediated settlement with the other former PAC 12 schools. I believe that any settlement that does not give OSU and WSU all the remaining money and control would virtually ensure that both the Cougs and Beavs would end up in the Mountain West conference. That is the same result that will happen if they lose the legal battle so why agree to it in a settlement.
(2) When(and if) the Beavs and Cougs are given the legal go-ahead to form a new PAC12, the Fresno State, Boise State, UNLV, etc. western grouping will eventually be a big time winner in all ways for the teams that are in it.
Go Beavs!
I look forward to being enlightened and educated by the many members of this forum that are far more knowledgeable and insightful than myself!

They are still in the conference and entitled to some form of payment for this year. It's either the full amount or a negotiated discount, if we can claim sort of damages.
