I know for a fact that there has been increasing anguish on both the CAL and Stanford campuses over their too-hasty and ridiculous decisions to join the ACC. Lots of worry there that recruiting in most all their sports will suffer due to travel constraints. They're also concerned about travel costs and the effects on so much travel on study time for their athletes.
If we can pull off maintaining the PAC as a power conference, I'll hardly be surprised if both CAL and Stanford to ask to rejoin us in a year or two.

Stanford would rather cancel all sports then suffer the indignity being conference mates with Boise St. or Fresno St. I just don't see it. If you ain't an R1 uni- GTFO (according to Stanford). I think Cal is just very concerned with money and would entertain the idea.

They signed a GOR to the ACC. not coming back until that GOR expires or the ACC gets ripped up just like the PAC did. Both will happen

Both will happen Exactly, they signed a grant of rights that lasts until 2036...they ain't leaving unless they come up with massive cash to buy their way out or the ACC disolves. Don't waste any sleep thinking about any of the traitors coming back.

The ACC's Grant of Rights does not expire until 2036. Absent something very strange, Cal and Stanford are locked into the "ACC" until 2036.

AAC might want to kick both Cal and Stfd out after having to spend millions traveling to berzerkly and meadow muffin SF. Just saying.

That sounds like a well thought out , intelligent decision............ Together, the pair have a stranglehold on the 10th-largest media market in the country, and their "solution" was to travel to Blacksburg and Charlottesville for conference games. Diplomas are not worth the paper that they are printed on down there.

Very few people give a crap about Cal or Stanford sports.

I don't think it will actually happen....BUT....
I thought in the papers uncovered about the UCLA to Big10 contract, there was some back-out period or clause? Who knows if that exists in this context. I highly doubt it considering how many concessions Calford had to make to get in - they'd never face another ACC team again if they backed out now.
Really stinks, because OSU/WSU/Cal/Stanford would have been a decent core to build around but...we are where we are...
