Interesting result for the scrimmage. Guess that's one way to put it! Experimenting or not, that is not a good result to create interest in the team.

Here is all Kerry said about the scrimmage: "The Beavers lost to Nevada at home in their only non-counting scrimmage last week. “We had great moments, and had times where it’s evident we need to develop,” Rueck said. “It was a day where we learned a lot, and that helps us know where we have to get better.”
After all the hype about how much better they will be this year and the easy wins in Italy this summer that had to be embarrassing to the team to lose a scrimmage to a poorish (10-21/6-12) Mountain West team! Since there has been no further info available on this scrimmage and knowing how much talent we have on this team in the front court I'm guessing this came down to back court issues and specifically having a good pg to run the show. Again this is just a guess---perhaps also some key players sat out this scrimmage but even if so it seems to me we have enough talent overall on this team that we should have easily won this scrimmage----other thoughts anyone...

My memory is that sometimes in the past they didn't even keep score. That's how little interest SR has in this scrimmage being a "game". We will see more about what is what this Sunday.

I literally couldn't care less about non-counting scrimmages.

This is a very young team. The best players are sophomores and the point guards are freshman. They are super talented, but inexperienced. There will be growing pains for sure. Sounds like that was the case against Nevada. Hopefully they learned from it.

I don't know what the team learned from this scrimmage, but it's amazing how much some on the Board learned from an event that no one saw.

Who are you referring to when you say “some on this board”? I didn’t see the scrimmage, but do now know that they lost. Regardless of that specific result, Freshman point guards and underclassman as your top players will definitely result is some inconsistency. The conf is tough. I will reiterate that I hope they learned something from the game last weekend (I am sure they did) and take it into the next game, etc. I am sure nobody anticipated a loss to what appears to be an average mid-major team.

I spoke with one of the coaches last night at the tip-off dinner, and it wasn't a typical game. I was told they didn't throw the ball up in the air and go after it for 40 minutes. I got the impression it wasn't representative of a typical WBB Game like situation. Nothing specific to share, but that was the impression I received from the coach. I am ignoring the scrimmage and will take in the game Sunday as first evidence of what this team can be.

Kerry said 18-12 overall and 11-9 in conference. That would mean 8-3 out of conference. If we lose 3 games against that schedule, we ain't winning 11 conference games.
I think he must have pulled those numbers out of his hat.
