….Michigan State job. If he leaves that could begin to unravel Pac2 strategy ahead.

IMHO, Coach Jonathan Smith has more market value than Dickert. I was snooping a USC board the other day and one of their fans asked what it would take to get Coach Smith away from Oregon State. Nobody asked about Dickert. It's comical how sometimes USC fans obsess with Oregon State. They're going to miss us. Here's a recent link on the possibility of Dickert to MSU. Note there's a video at this link of a conversation between Dickert & Canzano, and Canzano appears to have published this conversation on October 17th. But it ends with Dickert talking about getting ready to play Oregon State. Have fun with that. The article is dated October 19th: fansided.com/posts/michigan-state-rumors-wazzu-coach-jake-dickert-denies-spartans-interest-01hd416cxx1mI found a couple of other links to very recent (1 or 2 days old) articles that link Canzano's video that ends with Dickert talking about getting ready for Oregon State... I'll search some more tomorrow as the "Dickert to MSU" rumor is certainly worth following. I don't think losing Dickert would be a huge blow to OSU's & WSU's efforts to rebuild the PAC-12, but it certainly doesn't help. I hope Dickert stays in Pullman.

I would be more worried about one of our assistants leaving than what happens at WSU.

Who could blame him if he left?

I would be more concerned about Lincoln Riley going to the NFL and USC going after JS. He grew up a USC fan. Hopefully, he doesn’t want to raise his kids there.

Dickert doesn't really have any control over realignment or anything else. He can make splashs making noise in the media and win games. Other than that the football coach isn't a factor.

Obviously I do not know the guy, his belief system, or moral compass. BUT, ANYONE who'd take a job at a school with all the past and present issues of MSU is just crazy and deserves what he gets. Although his family does not. East Lansing is NOT a safe spot. The last I saw it has a crime rate 90-95% higher than other comparable cities in Michigan. That's just in Michigan. Top off those two issues with MSU will ALWAYS be little brother to UM and a bottom tier team in the new B10.
If he wants a "better" job there will be much better options available. Be patient dude, no matter how much they waive at you.

I imagine a coach of a Big Ten university football team can afford to live outside the crime zone. www.city-data.com/crime/crime-East-Lansing-Michigan.html

MSU, East Lansing have a plethora of issues that have less to do with football that will keep quality coaches that have other quality choices away.

One source on one issue raised. MSU, East Lansing have a plethora of issues that have less to do with football that will keep quality coaches that have other quality choices away. Ok then. What are the past and present issues of MSU that you allude to? The sexual harassment case against the coach? What does that have to do with an incoming coach? As for being UM's little brother and a bottom tier school, in '21 they went 11-2 and won the Peach Bowl. And I think UM is going down soon. The NCAA will probably go after Harbaugh and Harbaugh will be done with college football. And the program will fall apart for awhile until they can rebuild. If he gets the call, it might be exactly the best time to coach Michigan State.

Not to mention the board, admin, AD are a circus. Site whatever you want... 37-78 vs UM. East Lasing is constantly in the news. If you know folks that live/lived there... police dept is under constant investigation. Increased violence in the downtown area. Continual community issues with the college. Poor housing options and poor mss transit system. The chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime in East Lansing is 1 in 37. Based on FBI crime data, East Lansing is not one of the safest communities in America. East Lansing has a crime rate that is higher than 92% of the state's cities and towns of all sizes. But, you keep arguing for the sake of arguing about a place you know only from brief online searches that support your view from afar. And... still as stated, there will be better jobs at schools with better situations for a patient coach who wants it. Care to argue that also? FFS...

OK, this actually happened at Michigan State tonight. The trivia question was, "What country was Hitler born in?" Yes, this happened. You want to work at a place like that?
