.oooooo1 % chance it happens. Who was the last school besides Utah to add any seats. Schools don’t want Joe lunch box buying tickets, the money is in the premium seats. Look at Nebraska. They are doing a stadium project taking out approximately 15,000 seats to have a 75,000 capacity. It’s about amenities,.,.not putting butts in the seats. 450 million dollar project. The plan to add a second deck on the South end zone was 20 years ago. A lot has happened since then. streaming....just saying..

So many reasons people use not to go. Can they have a second deck at Penn St. or Texas A&M or Clemson…sure. We’re not a blue blood like them.

East coast and SEC country has much denser population bases...Or you live in somewhere like Lincoln NE and have nothing else to do on Saturday...

Your “case” has more holes than a block of Swiss cheese! You guys are thick. You said we can't add bleachers because of the video board. Temp or not it can be done. The end. Just need Money... This was the post I was responding to: 7 hours ago castorcanadensis said: “That was the attendance Friday night. Can we add temporary bleachers over the south endzone and get another 3k? They add temp bleachers at Goss”. It was posed as a question. I offered my honest response. As far as PERMANENT grandstands, sure, anything is possible. It’s only a matter of money.

We’re not a blue blood like them. I took my son to a game. for the two of us it was a $350 day a non-kid friendly event at a gigantic poorly patrolled beer garden. Some old bitty pinched his foot cause he got excited and kicked the back of her seat a few times. 1/10 experience sober.

Maybe if we can sell out for 5 seasons straight they can consider making it via endzones. Pretty much every trend points to reduced crowd sizes. Although I do wonder if the deluge of the same 4 commercials 30 times a game is a form of blackout lol The most likely expansion now would be the north endzone and replacing the Valley River Center...seems...not smart. Between the video board and student health services I think it would be pretty prohibitive to do anything on the south side. Best move might be launching a huge health initiative so we aren't all such fat asses and can go back to bench seats! I'll pledge 50 lbs to this effort by 2050. Yeah, it would be tough to sell any seats they add by replacing the Valley River Center. Wait, they closed the mall? I don’t think you could see the game from there.

We need to get our season ticket sales north of 25k before we even worry a little bit about adding cheap seats. Season tickets drive the financial model, scarcity adds value to buying season tickets. The stadium is a business and 37,000 makes plenty of noise so no advantage in adding a couple thousand cheap seats that drive down the value of season tickets.

Again…the days of cheap end zone seats are gone. It’s about maximizing much needed income by the athletic department. We aren’t adding temporary or permanent seats to the end zone likely ever.

Don't worry. If we end up in the MW conference, we won't need the additional seating. And the cheap end zone seating will be back.

FWIW... not sure if the 37k number above was # of tickets sold, or actual people in attendance, because there were plenty of open seats, and not just in the top corners. I don't think we will ever actually need more seats. Although it would be nice for folks to show up if they bought seats, or give them to someone who will show up.
For how expensive tickets are... How does a stadium "sell out" and still have thousands of empty seats???

How does a stadium "sell out" and still have thousands of empty seats??? Flu bug - schedule conflicts, etc. But, I agree - it has never been easier to gift/ sell/ pass off tickets, even at the last minute, especially with electronic transfers - you do not even need to hand someone a physical ticket. Really not much excuse for so many empty seats with a sell out.
And, if you give tickets to someone who hasn't been before, or not for many years - you also help the AD by introducing them to a great experience. We are season ticket holders of 18 years, and we signed up after a neighbor gave us family pack tickets a few times - then we bought our own.

How does a stadium "sell out" and still have thousands of empty seats??? Because the ticket was sold and the buyer did not show up, or stayed in the parking lot to tailgate, or re-sold it to another person who didn't attend, or watched the game from along the rail at Beaver Street or someplace else other than his/her seat, because a vendor bought a bunch of tickets they couldn't sell on the secondary market ... Lots of reasons why a sold ticket isn't used.
