Re: posts on what the ratio of passes to runs should be - If memory serves, the Beavs have been passing about 25 times per game thus far. Might have been more against Wazzu playing catchup. Somewhere around that number looks to be what they're plan is. Utah has a very fine defense, and had, I think, 13 tackles for loss. Still, we gained about 350 on them, and that's better than most do or will do. Don't know when, or even if, we'll ever play them again, but, with that win, we lead the all time series 13-12-1. That's one traitor down, 7 to go. I really hope we blow out Cal next Saturday. Oregon State has been passing at least 30 times per game. If you exclude the Wazzu game, you are still at 28.5 times per game. 358 yards is the most yards gained on Utah's defense since Penn State in the Rose Bowl. Seven teams had more than 358 yards last year. But three of those teams had multiple turnovers and lost: Oregon State, Arizona, and USC. 13 tackles for loss. That is the most since the 20-12 loss to #6 Stanford. Utah is an interesting team, because they have one opening next year, two openings from 2025-2027, an opening in 2028, two openings from 2029-2033. Outside of California and Stanford, they are probably the team that will be the easiest to schedule nonconference games with over the next 6+ years. Utah is the least offensive of the teams that we play this year. They only really went along, when it was clear that they would be one of six teams left, if they stayed.

You raise a good point, sir. I would extend my arms and make a milking motion with my hands. Basically opening and closing my fists in the air. I think by grabbing your own breasts, instead of imaginary udders, you get on Sports Center and become a meme. This is why at least one ag class should be mandatory for graduation at Oregon State.

Utah's defense is legit...maybe top five in the country legit. Maybe should have factored that in when complaining about the play calling. Really fortunate that Rising was a no go for the game. OSU played really well on defense and Bray mixed it up instead of staying vanilla, which was big against Johnson. DJU was solid. He made a bad decision on the pick while under pressure but he was OK. The officials had one absolutely horrendous PI call on OSU. Otherwise, I didn't have a major problem with the vast majority of the calls. I absolutely hate the targeting rule for the excessive punishment. Complete nonsense. At the most they should sit someone for a half after a second targeting call or something like that. Top three legit. Oregon State probably does not play a defense that good again, until at least the Pac-12 Championship Game.

Whatever. The beavers lost to Utah State a couple years ago. They’re still not that good. WTF does a loss two years ago have to do with this year's team? Absolutely f%#*ing nothing. WTF does it matter if Utah's plane was two hours late ON THURSDAY? The game was Friday night. The Pac-12 has refs so top-notch that a back judge can call a defensive holding that allegedly occurred in the middle of the field from 30 yards away on the far sideline, while three other officials closer to the ball saw nothing. We had one penalty at halftime and did not alter our playing style, but had 10 penalties in the second half. With a 21-0 lead in the fourth quarter our concern isn't Utah. It's the freaking clock. RTGDB, burn 2-3 minutes every possession, if you don't get a first down punt the ball and make them drive 80 yards, something they were completely incapable of doing. DJ's pick was awful but why was he even thinking about throwing the ball. Utah allowed 11 points to Florida, 13 at Baylor, and seven apiece against Weber and UCLA. Their defense is legit. And we dominated them.

Yeah, the Utes D is ridiculous.

Yeah, the Utes D is ridiculous. The bye for Utah comes at a great time for them. USC has to travel to USC and Washington but gets Oregon and Colorado in Salt Lake. Otherwise, Utah gets Arizona and California in Salt Lake and has one last road trip to Tucson.

Yeah, the big key for Utah is getting Rising back as soon as possible. Maybe that will happen after the bye. With him they could run the rest of the table IMO Unfortunately. I thought UO looked scary good in the win against Colorado. Not that the Ducks won big but that they just suffocated that CU offense that looked so explosive in previous games. And UW looks great as well. The Pac-12 is just loaded.

Let's not pretend those penalties were all justified lol There were a couple bad ones that went our way too. I agree, zebras were trash.

We still don't really know what the ducks are. Might not until they play UW. We learn a bit more this week as CU is the only decent comparator at this point. I think they are vulnerable to the run on defense and on offense can be forced to one dimension.

Milk the clock, how would you do it? Like milking a cow, but that’s just me. That is udderly ridiculous. And the coach that would not try milking the clock would be a milk dud. For those that don't like these comments please skim past them.

Just read on a utah message board that their qb Barnes that was leveled by Rawls (and it wasn't targeting) is in the hospital.
