Very interesting coming from an informed perspective. The two big takeaways for me were the conference's inability to find a way to welcome OU & UT when they sought us out and wanted acceptance. The other was Shaw's thoughts on the future of live game broadcasting. Cable and satellite, in his view, are going away and the future is streaming.......
Hmm, if he is right on that and there is evidence to suggest he is, then..... Once again it looks like the conference had the opportunity to be pioneers and lead the way into the future and were ready to take that step until O & W tanked the deal all for reduced membership status in a conference far, far, away.

I watched the Oregon legislature meeting today with the, whatever it is, Interim Board of Higher Education?
The timeline they laid out, some of the things President Murthy said, it was pretty interesting.
Some things have been reported already, but I had never heard that the Apple TV deal had an out after 2 years if expectations weren't being met. Everybody seemed on board with it, it was going to pass. Suddenly, overnight, Oregon and Washington backed out.
Makes you wonder what kinds of phone calls went down that night.
She also said that she'd never heard that anybody had ever asked for $50 million a year and didn't know what that was all about.

David Shaw is a POS. Glad he quit.

To be fair, she was only President for four 27 days of the ESPN and Fox negotiations, and I believe that the Pac-12 dropped the $500 million demand sometime in the July or August timeframe, before Murthy was hired.
