Hello College Football's near future Future? Wait til you find out about the last 12 or so years of college football. Bama, Clemson, Georgia, Ohio St, occasional other SEC team. That’s it Not sure why you would limit yourself to the last 12 years. College football has NEVER been a model of parity. The NBA certainly has had more parity than college football over virtually ANY comparable time frame. Heck, it'd be GREAT if college football were to become as competitively balanced as the NBA in the near future.

One actually has a championship with some type if tournament format and always has. Though 52 of 77 titles are in the trophy rooms of only 5 teams. College football has had far far more "championship" teams. Simply far older and as the criteria was so often obtuse and many many years had multiple champions. There are like 50+ teams that lay claim to a college title. I believe 39 with multiples. I think there have been 24 different national title trophies! It's far less for college football now, but it's not a true playoff setup, and far more teams. And, really NBA finals matchups have been dominated by a handful of teams... Lakers/Celtics (12) Lakers/Nationals/76ers (6) Lakers/Knicks (5) Celtics/Hawks (4) Warriors/Cavs (4) Lakers/Pistons (3) Celtics/Rockets (2) Celtics/Warriors (2) Really not much parity.

How many NBA teams are there vs NCAA teams? There were only 23 NBA teams up through the late 1980s. There have been 8 different champs in the past 12 years. A lot of the seemingly common championships were from back in the pre-1970s years where there were fewer than 10 teams. Celtics/Lakers was pretty common back in the pre-ABA days when there were 4 or 5 teams per conference. The NBA has FAAAAAAAAAAAR more parity, and it's FAR more likely that a bottom-feeder NBA team could win a championship than a bottom feeder Power-5 NCAA football team - forget about the non-power 5 teams. "if you take their entire histories" - No, we're not comparing 1950s NBA parity with 1950s NCAA parity. 9 NBA teams vs 100+ NCAA teams can't be dismissed by a simple "apples to oranges" statement. Heck, take the 1980s on, and pretend you can make an argument that the NCAA has more parity. Not even you can do that with a straight face.

Your stipulations not mine! And...again one is a championship the other is not even recognized by the NCAA. Apples to ??

I think going back even 50 years is more than enough to make any type of comparison. When most of your "non-parity" in the NBA stuff comes from the 9 team pre-ABA version of the NBA, then it loses any value in this conversation. But, we know you like to be intentionally obtuse, so, I suppose it's credible enough for you.
