Better chance to win a ring at Milwaukee. Him going to Miami wouldn't have solved their size issue they had against Denver. Also unloaded Nurkic's contract to Phoenix.

As a Blazer fan this makes me sad. It makes me sad that the Blazers couldn't put a better team around Dame while he was in his prime, it reminds me that we still have an absentee owner who doesn't really care which makes me sad and it further reinforces that the Blazers will never really have a REAL chance at a NBA championship.
SAD

As much as I have tried to quit the NBA it alsways seems to pull me back in I take my son to a few home games... mini season tix. He likes it so that's all that matters with those games. We also go to some preseason games when it coincides with OSU football trips. Warriors seem to be the one that works out the most for Furd/Cal trips.

SAD This is what really burns me. To have a star with Lillard's ability and not to put a decent team around him was a damn shame. I really don't expect it to change in the near future. Radio was talking of needing to change ownership. Meh. In my opinion, even when Allen was alive, we couldn't build teams around stars. Seems like the same excuses when Roy was around.

A positive spin is that Portland now has 3-4 young, good pieces to build around.

lol Miami fans are mad as hell on social media about this … Giannis and Dame teamed up will certainly make the Bucks the team to beat in the East and Vegas just made the Bucks the favorite to win the NBA title next season:

No dog in the fight as I'm not really a NBA fan. But, this news had me thinking...
- it's a game, you're paid millions, you have a very public platform that one could use to benefit society. Yet, it's all about more $ and a championship. Hello, ego aside, you're aren't guaranteed the opportunity to win a title. There is no "deserving" it;
- GM blame... as mentioned Portland didn't put a great team around Dame. Allen certainly wasn't Sterling, but not a Buss either. But, how many teams can/want to put together a super team? Playoffs... OK. But how many teams actually can win a title?
- Dame... I want to end my career in Portland. I want to win in Portland. I want a trade. In one way I'm glad he didn't get his way... Miami. But, ironically Dame didn't solve the Heat's front court shortcomings. And, the Bucks offer a much better chance for a title;
- Miami/Riley... he's taking some heat for not making the Dame trade happen. Did he really want it to happen, unless it was on the cheap? He never upped the ante. At his age, recent # of missed games, and what $216 mil still owed was Dame the piece Miami really needed? I think Riley was very astute here.
Heard Dame's new song dropped today. He's been good for Portland. Fans will welcome him his next visit. But, Dame, great players come, go, and the next comes along.
Petrie, Paxton, Walton, Luke, Drexler, Porter, Roy, LA, etc
Blazers will be fine. Not champions, but fine.
