I was worried that she wouldn't grasp the complex issues this mess created. I was wrong.

So Covid was tough on the local school districts too. So how many here think the Oregon taxpayers should fund college sports? I don't think this will sell well on the academic side that hates sports.

We have a $5.5 billion budget surplus. Oregon taxpayers should fun their public universities at a higher rate than they do. Then it's up to the university to determine how it spends its money. And many states fund college athletics, through various ways. The Washington and Arizona schools receive tuition waivers.

I was worried that she wouldn't grasp the complex issues this mess created. I was wrong. She's very capable. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jayathi_MurthyTaught at Carnegie Mellon University, Purdue University, department chair at University of Texas at Austin, dean at the UCLA Samueli School of Engineering, and then President of Oregon State University. And in the midst of all that, authored 330 technical papers. Absolutely incredible resume.
