I think staying P5 at this point, even at a bit of a discount, is worth it. I just don't see the upside to merging with the MW, other than travel. I think we have a better chance to keep Smith around and keep the recruiting at a high level if we are in the B12......also its exponentially better baseball conference If courts decide to go by the conference and NCAA bylaws, the Beavs and Cougs are still in the P5, plain and simple. That could change in the future, but there was some meeting a couple weeks back that was touted to be the big meeting where the Autonomous 5 would become the Autonomous 4. The meeting happened, but nothing changed. The only thing I saw about it was th The Monty Show where they said they had heard it sounded like nothing would happen for at least a couple years. If true, there's no telling what could happen. I just think in long run being in the B12 puts us in a better position than a conference that consists of the Pac 2, and MW......we have a better chance to sit at the big boy table |

But if we could cherry pick the best out there rather than taking the whole MW, we might be able to create an interesting conference. |
