How do you shave?
Electric
Cartridge razor
Dual Edge Safety razor
Straight razor
Disposable razor?
I switched from cartridge to dual edge safety a couple of years ago. Dual edge is way less expensive for the blades (I think I got 100 blades for $10), but a bit more up front for a quality razor handle
I also switched from canned shaving gel/cream to more old school cream where you put a bit on the brush and mix it in a shaving bowl.. I think the cost vs canned is pretty much even
i was worried the dual edge was unsafe? I would cut myself a lot...but not true. just as safe as a cartridge setup. Dual edge is also less irritating to the skin

Picked up the brush and some quality cream, though I found myself not sticking with the expensive cream and just using a cheap shaving soap that is available everywhere. I bought an old Gillette off of Ebay, but when I was in Japan, I bought an inexpensive Feather that I like (longer handle) and a bunch of Feather blades.
Since I had had the beard from when I was 19, using the DE was a tad tricky for me and I cut myself a number of times.
Long story, short. The wife and kids prefer the beard, so my shaving days are (thankfully) over.
Also, if you haven't visited the Badger and Blade forum, then you're missing out. Good place. Or at least it was when I was getting into it all.

Dual edge is also less irritating to the skin While I prefer a clean-shaven face, I consider time spent shaving as wasted. The less time and effort expended the better. So I’ve gone electric (Braun) for the last 20+ years. I get the exact same results as with razor shaving - if not better. I can’t imagine ever going back. That said, it’s an entirely subjective thing and whatever works best for your face is the right choice.

Cartridge razor and canned gel.
Tried electric, like once, and didn't like it.
I've had to use foam a time or two and just don't like it, either.
I refuse to pay for 4/5/6/8 however many blades they like to pack on a razor. I just use the 2 blade cartridges, which work great for me.
I have contemplated going to a DE, but haven't.

Considering I can usually go 2-3 days between shaves I opted for an electric. I simply cannot grow facial hair...

Has anyone used Dollar Shave Club? Opinions or reviews?
I hate shaving so went with a beard about 15 years ago and haven't looked back. Still have to shave around the thing though. Currently using gel and dual blade cartridges which is fine, but still more than I want to spend on it all.

Now that I'm retired I don't need to shave every day but I generally do. Canned gel and a multi-blade cartridge. I have a little mirror in the shower and shave there. Hot water is a great beard softener.

Double edge safety razor with shaving soap.
I got fed up with how expensive shaving cartridges were and took the plunge with the safety razor. The blades cost less than 25 cents each and that satisfies a cheap bastard like me.
But when I first made the switch, there was nothing "safe" about the safety razor. I had a couple cuts that made wonder if I was going to bleed out. One cut left a small, faded patch on my face. After 5 sessions or so, I finally figured out how to use the thing and it's been good ever since. I usually don't get cuts unless I'm in a hurry and not paying attention.
If you do use a double edge razor, do this: Apply as little pressure as possible when putting the razor to your face. You can get to a point where you let the weight of the shaving tool be the pressure against your skin. Also, put the blade at a fairly steep angle to your face. I find that putting the blade at an angle of about 20-30 degrees past parallel to your skin works great.
And for God's sake, never ever ever dry shave with a double edge safety razor.
