Well, Kliavkoff was pushing for a lot of this to ensure his cut as we all suspected.

I've had the same thought regarding Schultz....that is the one lucky thing that actually went our way in this fiasco, that he happens to be the chairman at this time (does the position rotate? Or is it elected?).

That's a good rehash, and good information to have. Thanks for posting.

I found the wording of this part interesting...
“One representative of a departing Pac-12 member threatened that the departing members of the Conference were poised to take immediate action to seize control of the Pac-12."
I noted that it said "threatened" rather than "warned". This representative, and the school they represent, are clearly not a friend of OSU and WSU. It seems like a lot of people would be curious to know the identity of this unnamed school. In the absence of being told directly, we can only draw our own conclusions.

I've had the same thought regarding Schultz....that is the one lucky thing that actually went our way in this fiasco, that he happens to be the chairman at this time (does the position rotate? Or is it elected?). Schulz, not Sergeant Shultz: It is my understanding that the Chairman rotates somehow, someway through the universities each year with each President basically moving up from fifth in line to Chairman over a five-year period. The Chairman of the Pac-12 back from 2020-2021 was Oregon's President, Michael Schill. Schill is now the President of Northwestern. Schill was part of the smear campaign against Larry Scott and spearheaded forcing him out. And Schill was the head of the committee to replace Scott with George K. a couple of months later. Schill was replaced at Oregon by Wisconsin's old Provost, John Scholz. The Vice-Chairman was Washington’s Ana Mari Cauce. She replaced Schill in July of 2021, shortly after George K. came on. She was Chairman for a year before being replaced by Schulz a little less than two months ago.
