You are asking us to explain what most of the football world cannot? But it certainly helped the Carl’s brother, Stanford, stood up for them. Carl was a baller! Scratch it Carl, scratch it!

Irimi is spot on. GAG and, to some extent, MR in his later years, are directly responsible for the bad years that lead to the loss of respect for OSU. Thus no invite. Heck, even in the LV Bowl, the world portrayed Florida as a gutted team rebuilding and the OSU win had an asterisk. Fast forward 8 months and the world put Florida on some epic pedestal against Utah 2 weeks ago. Utah’s win was treated as “phenomenal” but Florida showed to be the same team we faced. The common denominator, OSU. If we’re there, the opponent is found to be flawed. If we are not there, that same opponent is a world champ. That is the OSU GAG and others created in those years in the eyes of the college football world. Unfair, yes! Really, so how do you explain Cal getting an invite to the ACC? Or SMU? When was their football dominance? Realignment has zero to do with wins and losses. Unless we won a title, it would have made no difference. You already know the answer to that question. Cal was taken because of Bay Area TV market and they were willing to take a revenue sharing deal that largely favors the ACC to convince the conference naysayers that didn’t initially want them. Cal had to sell itself to the devil and ride ‘Furd’s coattails.

It is likely a conference “may” have given OSU a deeper look had football not been dog$hit a few years ago and MBB was not a train wreck under Tinkle.

TV is the dominant. Notice I said OSU “may” have caught a conference’s attention had our programs been more consistent. I don’t think our takes are as far apart as you may think and are cleverly trying to get to with your witty question storming.

You realize new and current media deals have zero to do with the past coach and record. And, there is zero evidence to show otherwise. Media wants eyes or potential eyes. Plus, 8, 9 win OSU most likely isn't nationally ranked in many of those years. You have to love folks just making stuff up. GAG era was bad... some foretold the possibilities and events during his tenure and were chastised. But, it's long over. GAG deserves zero blame for the current realignment mess. Keep up the "blame train" BS, it's so helpful. Hell, what's next? Why aren't all the NW folks who didn't attend or tune in to blame?

However our recent inconsistencies are a contributor. GAG is one big reason for that recent history. Hence he contributed. Not going to even address your last sentence regarding blaming fans.

You really shouldn’t be responding to me. Do you think I’m suddenly going to have an ahhh-haaa moment and decide to like you as a poster? Every single one of your posts just confirms my opinion of you. I think your a dopey fan hanging out on another teams message board. The only way you can change that opinion is to stop hanging out on this message board, because there is no way I’m ever going to think more of you then you’re dopey. You'd know "dopey" first hand. And... judgemental, rude asswipe, and the other traits commonly associated with toxic individuals... high levels of narcissism, antisocial behavior, and a lack of empathy. Congrats. PS- "Aggie" was granted the opportunity to post here, unfortunately so were you. Hahaha, what are mad at me for, it’s not like aggielarry has stolen any of your nominations to the Beavermobile Douchebag Hall of Fame. bennyshouse.com/thread/10815/beavermobile-douchebag-hall-fame?page=4

You guys do realize that wins/losses and eyes on TV's aren't mutually exclusive, right? Had our football, and men's B ball programs been healthy over the last decade or so, we have more eyes/higher ratings. That may have helped overcome our relatively "rural" setting.

I, for one, would like to see you guys get off aggielarry's ass. His posts are civil, well thought out, and supportive of OSU as he, personally, looks at what he thinks might be best for the Beavs going forward. I always read, and enjoy, his posts, and would hate to see him leave us because some of you just can't stand that his cousin's neighbor's barber once had a nice thing to say about Gary Andersen.

The guy doesn't need defending, but it's a bad look when some are so toxic to visitors who have had no ill intent. They were given permission to be here and will be promptly removed if they're asswipes...
